After the dragon fruit, mango is the second Vietnamese fruit to be exported to Chile. Grapefruit should follow. Chile exports apples and soon cherries to Vietnam.
The recent agreement between Vietnam and Chile materialized with the first batches of Vietnamese mangoes shipped to Chile and Chilean apples shipped to Vietnam.
During a meeting in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) between the organizations of the two countries, a representative of ProChile, the Chilean trade office, confirmed the shipment of the first batches of Vietnamese mangoes for Chile and Chilean apples for Vietnam.
These shipments were made mid-August, as planned. Chilean professionals have highlighted the commercial potential of the two countries that are also negotiating to open markets for Chilean cherries in Vietnam and Vietnamese grapefruits in Chile.
