Axfood reports higher sales

Swedish food retailer Axfood has announced that its consolidated sales during the first half of 2004 amounted to SEK 16.846 million, an increase of 2.1 percent on the previous year. Retail sales for Axfood's wholly owned stores in Sweden rose 8.7 percent, with same-store sales rising 5.1 percent. Retail sales for wholly owned stores in Spar Finland rose 7.3 percent during the period, with a 1.1 percent drop in same-store sales.
