OMAN wants to put agriculture at the center of the diversification of its economy and the fair is the perfect showcase of its ambitions.
Today begins Agro Oman & Fisheries Expo which takes place until the 17th of May in Oman Convention & Exhibition Center. Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economic development policy of the Sultanate of Oman.
The government's economic development policy focuses on expanding non-oil sectors, such as agriculture and fishing. The objective is to establish a long-term sustainable economic base in anticipation of the time when hydrocarbon reserves will be depleted.
The Sultanate is planning to diversify production and to significantly increase the capacity of agriculture. Massive investments, implementation of the most beneficial processes, use of the latest technologies and innovative solutions.
