Growth in agricultural sector in January

In January 2022, Peru's agricultural sector increased by 5%, compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri).

The agri sub sector increased by +6.2% mainly due to the production of blueberries (+119%), parchment coffee (+109%) and grain yellow corn (+32.4%), as well as oil palm (+30.2%), avocado ( +15.9%), banana (+7%), mango (+4.9%). The rise is due to larger production areas.

The livestock sub sector increased by +3.3%.

It should be noted that in 2021 the Peruvian agricultural sector increased by 3.8%.
