Australia produces around 70,000 tonnes of mangoes annually, which are mainly (88%) intended for the domestic market (Photo: facebook/TropicultureAustralia).
According to Australian media, new varieties of mangoes, with different colors and flavors, are now available in Australian stores. These new varieties (Scarlet Delight, Hula, Mahachanok, etc.) come from orchards that will reach full production in 2 to 3 years, which suggests further growth in the volumes produced.
The most abundant variety remains 'Kensington Pride' which accounts for approximately 41% of national production.
