The Lima region produces 40% of the Peruvian cherimoya production totaling 20,000 tons.
According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Lima region produces 7 500 to 8 000 tonnes of cherimoya or about 40% of national production .
Particularly from the areas fSan Mateo Otao of Callahuanca (province of Huarochiri ) and Huanangui (province of Leoncio Prado Huara ) . Other producing regions Cajamarca, Apurimac , Junin .
Exports are still minimal, estimated between 1 and 2 % of production , with only a few markets : Canada, Costa Rica , Spain, Uruguay. But the potential is important , a recent trade mission to Japan , identified a high demand.
