Yield and production in sharp decline

A net decrease in production(-14.3%) has not been this low since 2001.
Lower yield has leds to a drop in potato production.
The production of potatoes for storage will reach 4.69 million tons this year, a decrease of 14.4% compared to 5,481,000 tons in 2011. Despite a small drop in surfaces (- 0.2%) average yield is down (- 14.3%) which generates a drop in production of more than 790,000
tons.
41.4 t. / Ha on average this year, is the lowest since 2001. All regions (except Isle de France, where the surfaces have increased sharply), are experiencing a decline in production, particularly the Nord-Pas de Calais where it has dropped by about 23%.
