Banana and rice plantations damaged by floods

The banana and rice plantations in Monte Cristi province (Dominican Republic) suffer from the floods due to excessive rainfall, according to local media.
As informed by the Ministry of Agriculture, when waters recede, it will be possible to quantify all the damage which remains unknown so far.
Last week, floods were reported due to intense precipitation in the northwest, the north, the Cibao Valley, and the Central Mountain Range. Villa Vásquez in Montecristi has suffered the most, but several provinces remain alert.
The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported 7 provinces on yellow alert and 8 on green due to possible flooding of rivers, ravines, and streams, as well as sudden or urban flooding.
The provinces on yellow alert were Montecristi, Puerto Plata, Valverde, Espaillat, Santiago, La Vega, and María Trinidad Sánchez.
While in green were Duarte, Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, Mirabal Sisters, Samaná, Monsignor Nouel, Dajabón, and Santiago Rodríguez.
