Compromise for the production of organic tomatoes under heated greenhouses

In France organic tomato growers will be able to continue growing them under heated greenhouses, but marketing is no longer allowed between 21 December and 30 April.

 

 

 

Whether or not tomatoes grown under heated greenhouses are organic. The debate has been settled. The CNAB (National Committee for Organic Agriculture) authorizes the cultivation of organic tomatoes under heated greenhouses but with the proviso that there will be no commercialization between 21 December and 30 April.

 

 

 

From 2020, all conversions of greenhouses in organic will have to use renewable energies (wood, methanisation ..). And from 2025, the heating of all greenhouses in organic must come 100% from renewables.
