Turnover of banana exports slows down

BCH (Banco Central de Honduras) released its figures on exports of the country: banana sales abroad fell by 7.6 million USD during the first half of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013.

Bananas generated USD 97.2 million during the first half while at the same time last year, revenues were 104.8 million UDS.

In 2013, banana exports accounted for 66.3% of total agricultural exports, and generated a turnover of 490.1 million USD, up by +10.8% compared to 2012.
