Quebec helps the producers of apples

The ministry of Agriculture, fishery and Food announced a $15 million help to producers of apples, major part being dedicated to the diversification of their production.
In the heart of the problem: the apple Macintosh. This last one remains very popular for gatherer and Quebecois consumers in general. But it ages badly.
It quickly softens, especially if it is not cooled, and does not face up to apples imported by the United States, Chile and South Africa, firmer and crunchier.
The apple Macintosh represents 60 percent of the Quebecois production.
