The African Union places agriculture at the center of debates

The 23th summit of the African Union (AU) will be hold in Malabo from 20 to 27 June 2014 and will have as a central themes the agriculture and food security in the continent.
The AU, which succeeded in 2002 at the organization of African Unity (OAU), established in 1963, is a cooperative structure that currently accounts 54 member countries. This cooperation is based on the desire to strengthen peace and promote the economic development of Africa.
Among the areas of development, agriculture must be optimized to ensure throughout food self-sufficiency. Strengthen subsistence agriculture and create the conditions necessary for the development of industrial agriculture through processing natural products on African soil.
