New dates for Fruit Logistica and Freshconex in 2009

A change to the regular Fruit Logistica schedule is expected to benefit both trade visitors and exhibitors in 2009.
Fruit Logistica 2009 will see an alteration to the usual Thursday-Saturday structure of the trade fair, organiser Messe Berlin has announced this week, with next years's event taking place between Wednesday 4 February and Friday 6 February.
The move has been attributed to the large increase in the number of international trade visitors and exhibitors, leading to time constraints and increasingly difficult travel requirements on the Saturday, traditionally the last day of the event.
A Messe Berlin statement said: "It is expected that from 2009 onwards the Friday, as the final exhibition day, will have a greater impact and value for both exhibitors and trade visitors."
As a result, Freshconex 2009, the trade fair for the international fresh-cut convenience sector launched alongside this year's Fruit Logistica, will also take place between 4-6 February. The day-long Freshconex Congress will open on Tuesday 3 February.
