New banana system for EU

EU has officially adopted a new banana system giving end to an old dispute with the US and Ecuador. This system replaces the former one implemented in 1993 that favoured the former European colonies in the Carribean and Africa. These ones will now have access to 83% of the total import quota of 2,4m tons. Other suppliers like Ecuador will have the difference, that is to say 17%.
