Norway has just had the warmest winter since the Meteorological Institute started measuring in 1900. The consequences could affect the production of fruit and in particular the production of raspberries.
All regions except the northern part of the country taped records temperature this winter. Temperatures were 3.9 ° C to 5.7 ° C above normal temperatures for the season. This winter was the warmest in 120 years, but also the second wettest. About 70% wetter than the normal period 1961-1990.
The mild temperatures favored growth, especially for plums, pears and raspberries. Harvests will not necessarily be early, the producers believe that these coming weeks will be decisive. Production remains under the double threat of fungal diseases and night frost during the month of March.
