The success of the MD2 pineapple will increase its culture

The MD2 pineapple variety produced in Malaysia won a great success for export , which will lead development of its production.

The MD2 pineapple grown in Malaysia is softer than other pineapples grown in other countries. This reason advanced by Malaysian professionals explain the sharp rise in demand MD2 pineapple in foreign markets .

Malaysian Pineapple MD2 are already exported to several countries in Asia (Japan, South Korea) , the Middle East and Europe . It has just recently entered the Japanese market where it meets the same success.

The Minister of Agriculture wants to expand production by encouraging small farmers to plant this variety . The objective is to increase the area of 2250 hectares by the end of the year.
