Macfrut 2022 will house a new pavilion entirely dedicated to the world of spices, officinal herbs and aromatic herbs.
The Macfrut fair will take place from May 4 to 6, 2022 in Rimini. The event will host 'Spice & Herbs Global Expo' entirely dedicated to spices, officinal herbs and aromatic herbs.
'Spices & Herbs Global Expo' will include an exhibition space welcoming operators from all over the world, business meetings with international buyers, technical workshops with experts in the sector and show-cooking sessions focusing on products from increasingly popular with consumers.
A pavilion will house 'Spice & Herbs Global Expo' which will consist of 2 areas. The 1st zone will be devoted to spices and will be set up at Macfrut in partnership with Cannamela, a leader in this market. The 2nd zone will be devoted to officinal and aromatic herbs, in partnership with Fippo (Federazione Italiana Produttori Piante Officinali, that is to say the Italian Federation of Medicinal Plant Producers) and the magazine Erboristeria Domani. This sector encompasses a wide range of plant species, rich in biologically active principles, including medicinal plants, superfoods and aromatic plants. A growing segment with great prospects.
The global spice market is worth around USD 18-20 billion, with an estimated annual growth rate of around 4-5%. The production of spices is constantly increasing, with 13 million tons in recent years and is expected to reach 18 million tons by 2030. The market for medicinal and aromatic herbs represents approximately 7,300 hectares of cultivated land in Italy, with 500 specialized companies.
