Increasing production of potatoes

The production of conservation potatoes increased in France 

According to figures published by the UNPT (union of producers), production of potato conservation totaled 5.235 million tons this year, against 4 690 000 tons in 2012. An increase of 11.6% in 1 year and 8.1% over the 5-year average (2008-2012).

Surfaces, covering 117,150 ha, increased by 3.4% compared to last year and 7.2% over the 5-year average (2008-2012).

The average yield was 44.7 t / ha in 2013. It is up by 8% over last year, but only 0.9% over the 5-year average (2008-2012).
