NEPG : Production and yields below average over 5 years

NEPG (North - Western European Potato Growers ) estimated that the total harvest in 2015 will be approximately 24.5 million tonnes. 

This total production on 5 producing countries ( Germany, Belgium, France , Great Britain, Netherlands)is a decrease of 14.1% compared to last year and 2.9% compared to the average 5 years.

The total area , about 5 countries, is down 3.7 % to 527,110 hectares. But it is the yield per hectare which has the largest impact on the total production. The situation varies widely according to production regions. It was Belgium who should know the biggest decline in yields, overall yields are about average in Germany , as in some areas of the Netherlands .
