The measures did not stop the rise in prices among consumers.
During the month of Ramadan food products often record significant increases in Algeria. This year to fight against inflation the Ministry of Commerce had announced various measures that prove insufficient according to Algerian consumers.

The Ministry of Commerce had first abolished taxes (DAPS) on several imported products such as nuts (peanuts, almonds ...), dried fruits (grapes, prunes ...), dietetic foods, bananas. The Ministry then introduced reference prices for domestic agricultural products such as potatoes, tomatoes, onions, carrots, zucchini and lettuce. These reference prices were determined with professional associations and consumer organizations.

Unfortunately, since the beginning of Ramadam, the reference prices for fruits and vegetables have not been respected and consumers complain of ever-present inflation.
