Record production forecast for Mexican avocados

Mexican avocado production for the 2005/06 marketing year is estimated at a record 1 million tonnes. This record figure is due to a number of factors including good weather conditions, better pest control and more trees coming into production. Exports are expected to reach a record level of 160,000 tonnes, primarily due to greater access to the US market.
