Decrease of 9.2% of the area of strawberries

Phase planting strawberries for the 2014-15 season just ended in the province of Huelva.

 

Freshuelva, organization of producers, announce 6340 hectares of plantations of strawberries, a decrease of 9.2% compared to the previous season (6980 hectares). The Huelva region comes back to the same level as registered in 2011 and 2012.

 

However, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries are progressing. Surfaces for raspberries reach a total of 1,560 hectares (+ 20%) for blueberries 1470 hectares (+ 27.8%) and mature 90 hectares (28.6%).
