Tropical fruit market to be boosted in the east
Malaysia
Wednesday 26 August 2009
The international tropical fruit market is to be enhanced in its output and commercial activity by agricultural production agencies and The Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry in Malaysia.
Countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia are conducting research to assess the strength of the market.
Malaysia has ambitions to become the central hub of trade in the tropical fruit market. The rise in activity is partly due to cheaper exporting and importing, and the rise in the popularity of goods on supermarket shelves due to the influence of celebrity chefs.
