Pepper exceeds tomatos the export classification

The pepper is the product No. 1 export, accounting in 2014 from 19.6% of total exports of the province.
New export record for the region of Almeria which exported 2,392,000 pounds of food in 2014;, or 5.4% more than in 2013.
The pepper is the product No. 1 export, with a share of 19.6% of total exports of the province in 2014. The tomato occupies the No. 2 position with 18.6% before the cucumber, No. 3 with 10.7%. Then zucchini (5.8%), watermelon (3.6%), eggplant (3.1%), almonds (2.2%) and lettuce and melon.
The EU is the main destination for products of the region of Almeria with 97% of total exports. The customer is No. 1 in Germany with 32.4% of the total. Followed by France (13.6%), the Netherlands (13%), the UK (11.4%), Italy (6.2%) and Poland (4.5%).
Nationally, the region of Almería consolidates its leading position with a share of 40.2% of total exports, well ahead of Murcia and Valencia 24% 8.1%.
