Prices for Pears from Serbia rally in Russia

According to the latest data, prices for pears imported from Serbia soar within fruits market of Russia. At the current moment whole sale prices for pears go up to 1,6 – 1,8 USDkg. This figure 3 times exceeds previous season numbers. Price knock could be attributed to strict ban for importing of products to domestic market of Russia from EU countries. Shortage of imported fruits has triggered strong growth of demand for pears from Serbia. Consequently pears costs have climbed up dramatically. It stands to mention that previously EU countries considered to be top suppliers of fruits to Russian market (approximately 70% of the whole import volume).
