As the citrus industry in southern Africa prepares for the new season, CGA (Citrus Growers' Association) reveals that exports to the EU have recovered well.
For CGA, volumes exported to the EU totaled 710 000 tonnes in 2015, then 668 000 tonnes in 2016, to rebound to 721 000 tonnes in 2017.
It should be noted that 90% of these export volumes went to 5 countries - the Netherlands accounting for more than half, the United Kingdom 20%, Portugal and Italy around 10%.
