In this context of global health crisis and slowed trade, Indonesia has just recorded an increase of more than 16% for its fruit and vegetable exports.
According to data from Statistics Indonesia, agricultural exports reached $410 million in September, up 16.22 percent from the same month last year.
Agricultural exports contribute only 2.4% to the country's total exports between January and September, but they recorded an annual growth of 9.7% in value to $2.82 billion. Coffee, vegetables, betel nuts, coconuts, guavas, mangoes, mangosteen, cloves, and pepper were the main agricultural products the country exported between January and August.
During this period the main destinations of Indonesian agricultural exports were China, the United States, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore.
