The two countries have signed several trade agreements and want to expand their trade.
Negotiations have concluded with a wider opening for Indonesian agricultural products, especially tropical fruits. Indonesia will be able to start the export of tropical fruit to New Zealand as part of efforts to reduce the trade deficit between the two countries.
New Zealand companies will be able to invest in various sectors (environment, tourism, energy) with those of agriculture and food production in Indonesia. New Zealand will allow Indonesian migrant workers access to its labor market.
