Apples are October's key product

Since a few years, there's a drop in European apple production, in particular for the Golden varieties. This drop is more noticeable in the Nordic countries. Crop forecast in France for the 2002/2003 season are 7 274 177 tons, 5 303 658 tons in Eastern countries + Switzerland and 12 577 835 tons in whole Europe.
