Export growth in volume and value for the tomato industry

The tomato industry sector has a satisfactory balance : increase in export volumes and value.
ANICAV, the association of processors, announced its figures for the year 2013/14. The sector has negotiated approximately 4.5 million tons of tomatoes and turned 4 million tons of fresh produce, or -13.5% compared to 2012/13 campaign.
Exports show an increase in volumes (+5.6%) and value (+6.7%) compared to the figures of 2012.
Europe is still the main destination for Italian products, with a share of 68.2% in volumes, registers a growth in both quantity (+7%) and in value (+7.2%) compared to 2012 .The main markets in Europe are Germany and the United Kingdom.
Outside Europe, it is noted an increase in exports to Africa (+2.6 in volume and +7% in value) to Asia (+2.4% in volume and +5.3% in value ) and to the United States (+3.5% to +7.5% in volume and value).
