A slight rise in global production of mandarins is projected in 2021.

Compared to the previous year, mandarins/tangerines global production in 2021 will grow up slightly to 33.1 million tons with larger supplies in China, the E.U, Morocco and Turkey. Exports will go up due to an increase in supply.
China production is expected to rise to a record 23.1 million tons due to favorable weather. Exports are projected to grow up with the higher supplies. China keeps dominating global production and accounts for over 1/4 of global exports.
European Union production will go up by 10 percent to 3.1 million tons due to favorable weather. With bigger supplies, exports are anticipated to rise while imports decrease.
Morocco and South Africa are projected to remain the biggest exporters to the EU. Morocco production is expected to rebound 30 percent to 1.2 million tons due to favorable weather conditions during the bloom and fruit set. Higher output is projected to increase both export volumes.
Turkey production is expected to rise by 25 percent to 1.8 million tons due to favorable weather. Exports are expected to increase with the increased supplies.
United States production is forecast to increase 5 percent to 882.000 tons due to a bigger crop in California. Record consumption is expected with the higher production and record imports. With high demand, imports have been up an average of over 10 percent a year over the last 10 years.
