Smurfit Kappa helps companies to open their doors safety after Covid-19 lockdown
Smurfit Kappa helps offices, workshops, warehouses and schools resume work. Regard, they have launched the Safe Portfolio of distancing products designed in accordance with safety regulations as Covid-19 lockdown restrictions start to be reduced.
The first products to debut at Smurfit Kappa were SafeSpace - corrugated workplace dividers. These are used to maintain a safe people distance who work in close contact with each other. It quickly assembled and 100% recyclable. Dividers were also used in many other locations, including a specially designated emergency area in the Hospital Complex of Navarra in Spain where they are used to separate patients’ beds. Other products in portfolio included: corrugated beds for temporary hospitals & isolation spaces, and temporary furniture including shelves and tables.
At this moment portfolio comprises wall dividers, desk and workstation separators, safety signage made from corrugated and point-of-sale screens.
The new solutions can also be used by schools. The SafeShield desk protector was produced in France where schools are partly re-opening. This simple and lightweight product protects the area around each child, has a varnish coating, so it can be cleaned repeatedly with alcohol-based cleaners.
Jean-Christophe Bugeon, CEO of Smurfit Kappa France, said: “We worked with professors from several schools to create exactly the right product that will protect children and young people in an unobtrusive manner.”
The SafeBarrier is simple but very effective screen for use in retail stores and till point areas to protect both workers and customers. The screen is made of durable cardboard and contains a recyclable plastic window that provides high visibility.
