Dutch manufacturer showcases ripening technology advances

Aiming to reduce operators' costs even more, Interko, one of the world's leading ripening experts, continues to advance its technology.
The firm has recently launched a Containerised Ripening Room, which was jointly developed and tested with Fyffes to ripen up to 20 pallets of avocados, mangoes or bananas anywhere in the world. The room is built inside a standard insulated refrigeration container that can be easily transported by ship or truck.
It is a mobile, multi-functional and space-saving room which benefits from a customized mechanical design and comes pre-fitted with Interko’s newest technology, including a unique fan system.
Soon, Interko will launch a fail-safe ripening controller which will be applicable to all their ripening rooms. The sensor-based program guarantees operators faster responsiveness and flexibility to improve their fruit ripening cycles.
In the meantime, the number of Interko’s Ultimo, Axesso and Optimo ripening rooms acquired worldwide continues to increase. In 2021, they were installed in facilities of known retailers, growers and importers from the Netherlands, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina, among others.
