Forecast of the New Season for Fruits and Vegs in Valencian Community

The forecast of the production of oranges this campaign ascends to more than 3 million of tn and to 2.4 the one of mandarin, a 35.7 and 17.2 percent more respectively than in the previous campaign. On the contrary, the lemon production will fall a 15.3 percent. The ministry of Agriculture emphasizes the good harvest of orange of the Valencian Community, although minor is expected lemon production, 148,300 tn less than in 2006.
In vegetables there are reductions generalized in the planted surface, and of significant way in the conserved tomato that diminishes a 37.5 percent with a reduction in its production of the 39.5 percent with respect to 2006.
In fruit trees, it emphasizes the almond that increases to its production with respect to the last campaign a 30.1 percent, countersinks (+10.9 percents), peach (+4.8 percents) and apricot (3.4 percents). On the contrary, the production with respect to 2006 of plum (- 16 percents), apple (- 14.2 percents) and pear falls (- 9.5 percents).
