Exception in the current landscape: the consumption of radicchio continues to grow .
Radicchio of the Veneto region is distinguished in the market today. According to an analysis of the consumption of fruits and vegetables in Italy in 2013, conducted by the CSO (Centro servizi ortofrutticoli di Ferrara), radicchio continues to increase its consumption. The increase is substantial: from 2007 to 2014 an increase of +50%, and from 2012 to 2014, growth reaches up to +18% to 64 000 tons.
The radicchio market is continuing its expansion. The director of the organization of producers OPO Veneto finds that the market is growing in Italy but especially in foreign markets that remains the potential. Prospects are excellent in terms of quantity and in terms of price.
