Less olives in Turkey
MLK
While olive production in these regions declined significantly due to weather conditions this year , the olive harvest in Gaziantep, southeastern region of Turkey , has increased from one to two with about 77 000 tonnes. It's many years that this region is working to improve the brand image of the olives it produces. It is for it and its producers an excellent opportunity to sell their olives at a good price ( almost double from the previous year ) and make them known .
Spain also has a lower production than normal, it is expected that this general decline in production in the Mediterranean basin affects the price of table olives as well as that of olive oil. While consumption of the latter had increased in recent times, the price could hamper the expansion.
