Vietnam has recorded a growth of 30% per year for the value of its exports of fruits and vegetables.
VNA (Vietnam News Agency) announced that revenues from exports of fruits and vegetables increased by 30% per year over the last 4 years. These revenues increased from 460 million U.S. $ in 2010 to 1 billion U.S. $ in 2013.
For the first quarter of 2014, revenues increased by +32.2% and allow to hope to reach 1.2 billion U.S. $ for the year. The majority of exporters are optimistic for 2014, the orders from traditional markets increase dramatically. 5 main client countries are China, Japan, the United States, Thailand and Malaysia.
Vietnam still has a huge potential, the export volume represents only 10% of the total volume of production, according to an official of the VASS (Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences).
