Before a visit to Beijing next May , India has check ??its accounts. The Ministry of Commerce wants the country to pressure to correct the imbalance in bilateral trade .
The trade deficit widened to $ 36 billion in 2013/14 , exports from India to China fell by 18.6 % over the period April 2014 / January 2015 while Chinese imports into India have increased by 17.16 %.
If the current situation continues, for the 2016-17 period, imports from China will exceed US $ 80 billion and exports of India will be around USD 20 billion. The trade deficit of USD 60 billion will be untenable.
According to the Indian authorities a series of barriers , non-tariff , block Indian exports , particularly those of pharmaceuticals and agricultural products (meat , rice, fruits and vegetables).
