Artichokes: forecast of a 5% increase in consumption

Artichoke professionals held their annual general meeting at FRUIT ATTRACTION. Artichoke consumption is expected to increase by 5%, thanks in particular to a rise in quality.

 

 

 

For the professional organization Asociación Alcachofa de España the production will reach 220,000 tons. The abundant rains have not damaged crops and the new plantations are promising.

 

 

 

The percentage of the volume of fresh produce marketed should increase to 40% (30% for the previous season) and that of canned / frozen foods to 60% (70% last year).

 

 

 

Other satisfaction, efforts to reach the end consumer are paying. The brand Alcachofa de España is recognized. The quality and the healthy benefits of the product will continue to be put forward.
