Rocha Pear: production slightly down

According to estimates by ANP (Associação Nacional dos Produtores de Pera Rocha), the association of pear producers Rocha, Portuguese production will be slightly down this year.

 

 

 

ANP estimates that the production of Rocha pears will be between 180 and 190 000 tonnes for this campaign. Or slightly down from 210 000 tonnes the previous season.

 

 

 

Exports in the 2017/18 season totaled 92 000 tonnes, well above the volume shipped in the previous marketing year (54 000 tonnes in 2016/17).

 

 

 

The top five destination markets are Brazil, the United Kingdom, Morocco, France and Germany.
