The Christmas holidays are approaching and should lead, like Thanksgiving, sales above average for organic products.
According to research firm Nielsen, organic products have increased their market share in food purchases for Thanksgiving Day. Retailers would have recorded an 11% increase in value for organic products compared to Thanksgiving last year.
Nielsen, in collaboration with Organic Produce Network, has revealed that some organic products have had above-average sales: carrots, celery, herbs / spices, potatoes, but also grapes, strawberries and avocados.
For the holiday season, the list of top 10 best-selling organic products should be about the same as the one for Thanksgiving. With certainly the presence of blueberries that should replace the grapes. According to the study organic products will account for 9% of all food sales in the 3 weeks ending January 6, 2018.
