According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Mexico (Sader), beer, tequila and avocado are the main Mexican agricultural products most exported to the American market from January to November 2021.
The value of avocado exports to the U.S rose by 20% year-on-year, from USD 2.066 billion to USD 2.487 billion. In volume, the increase was 9%.
Fruit exports to the United States increased by 17% from January to November, thanks to the increase in the value of exports of blueberries (+52%), lemons (+32%), strawberries ( +30%) and avocados (+20%), among others.
Increase also noted for exports of frozen fruits, in particular raspberries (+94% in value and +36% in volume), strawberries (+25% in value and +18% in volume) and other fruits (+14% in value and +9% in volume).
Sader also indicated that from January to November, the growth in the volume of vegetable exports increased by 8%. The best performances came from onion (+26%), lettuce (+20%), pepper (+15%) and asparagus (+14%).
Agri-food exports between Mexico and the United States reached 35.275 billion USD during this period, or +15% compared to the previous year. Beer exports reached USD 4.479 billion (+17%) and tequila exports reached USD 3.35 billion (+41%).
