Floods affect 30% of the total Australian production.
Flooding affecting Queensland will create a shortage of fruit and vegetables.
Areas affected by floods represent over 30% of the total Australian production of a wide variety of fruit and vegetables: beets, peanuts, sweet potatoes, peppers, peas, peppers, courgettes, onions, peppers, lettuces, avocados, mandarins, tomatoes, melons and lemons.
With this lost, many production of fruit and vegetables will be insufficient to meet demand. A price increase and an increase in imports is inevitable.
