According to the National Center for Agricultural Support, using Eurostat data, in 2022 the cultivated area for pumplins reached 8,900 hectares, resulting in a production volume of 400,000 tons. This represents a 700% increase in cultivated area and a 733.33% increase in production volume compared to 2014.
In the EU in 2022, pumpkin production exceeded 1 million tons, with Poland contributing 40% of the total with its 400,000 tons. Following Poland are France (207,000 tons, 20%), Spain (128,000 tons, 9%), and Portugal (81,000 tons, 8%). Together, these five countries account for nearly 81% of the EU's total production.
