Peru undergoes Thai inspection for potential Hass avocado exports

Thailand conducted a phytosanitary audit in Peru to evaluate Hass avocado farms and packing facilities, a key step toward potential export approval for the 2025 season.
Earlier this month, Two Thai agricultural officials visited Peru to evaluate conditions for Hass avocado exports during the 2025 season. The visit, part of phytosanitary agreements between Peru and Thailand, included detailed inspections of avocado farms and packing facilities. The goal was to verify compliance with Thailand’s import requirements.
According to ProHass, the visit was made possible through coordination with Senasa and the support of ProHass members. The audit confirmed Peru’s strong technical and sanitary standards, paving the way for potential export approval.
ProHass highlighted the collaboration of growers in La Libertad, Cañete, Barranca, and Huaral, emphasizing the industry's readiness to meet international expectations. The association praised the professionalism shown during the inspection and reiterated its commitment to expanding global market access.
This visit marks another step in Peru’s strategy to strengthen its position in high-value export markets.
